Youth Empowerment Agenda
My administration will make the early period of existence, growth, or
development of our people a dignifying one. Akwa Ibom State will enjoy the
vitality and freshness of youth in critical sectors of the state's economy such
as leadership, politics, science, engineering, and entrepreneurship. Distinct
personal, social, educational, and vocational needs of young people will be
aggressively addressed on a one on one and group basis.
We will prepare the youth for the assumption of responsible roles in the adult
world and strategically manage adult-supervised programs like cultural and
social events which may include leisure, entertainment, and sporting activities
so as to improve learning experience for the youth. In general, we will provide
the experience, knowledge and environment to let the youth make deserving and
desirable career choices.
Youth involvement in politics and decision making to help regain a renewed sense
of hope, vision and purpose for their own lives will be pursued as we provide
constructive outlets for the energies of young people and reduce destructive
influences in society. Thus, we shall evolve framework for attitudinal,
structural, and cultural processes for the youth to achieve the ability,
authority, and environment to make decisions and implement change in their own
lives.
