100 Staff of the Internal Revenue Service have been trained to sharpen their skills in the application of the new system of revenue collection adopted by the service in the State.
The Accountant General of the State, Mr. Isobara Udo Hary disciosed this while briefing Account and Revenue Staff in his office, adding that all Account Departments in Ministries and Extra -Ministerial Departments will be provided with computers by next year.
The Accountant General promised to make conscious efforts for the Account Staff to attend Seminars and Workshops at least twice a year to enhance their performance.
Mr. Isobara warned Account and Revenue Staff to always lodge revenue meant for Government in any of the approved Bank Accounts which, according to him, would reflect immediately in Government Account after payment.
He further explained that because of the new digital revenue collection system put in place by Government, his office is undergoing computerization and will train workers to be computer literate to enable them cope with the new system.
