The management of the economic affairs of Akwa Ibom State under Governor Akpabio has seen the state realising her potentials as a vibrant economy which has witnessed tremendous economic growth. Governor Akpabio has reformed the primary, secondary, and tertiary sectors of the state's economic activities with investment of state funds in productive enterprises such as tourism, agriculture and aviation towards wealth- producing for the people.
The governor has challenged the people to increase productive efforts consistent with the rising economic profile of the state and equally rise up to the challenge of improving the macroeconomic indicators of the state. Providing basic socio-economic infrastructures necessary for economic development to make possible a shift from public to private enterprise has been a key agenda of Governor Akpabio's administration.
At inception of office, the governor orchestrated a shift from civil service to commerce orientation with roll-out of state-of- the-art infrastructures, cutting edge services, and development of a dynamic, productive, and prosperous people. The next change management is a shift from commerce to industry with the roll-out of industry components and estates.
The impending industrial revolution in Akwa Ibom State is to rival the cash cow petro-economy which the governor met on ground and is geared to sustainability diversify the state's economy.

Agriculturally, the state's rallying economy has encouraged increased food production to self-sufficiency and make agro- business viable for farmers with the abundance of arable land. Governor Akpabio has introduced mechanisation to agriculture and has restructured the ministry of agriculture to be more responsive to farmers needs. Livestock production is given a significant boost, with Akwa Ibom State's 129Km coastline fishing is still rudimentary but the Governor has deployed modern fishing boats to fishermen for improved fish catch. Further, the governor is considering refrigeration and canning facilities as part of his industrialisation policy to preserve and transport the catch.
To average the commercial impact of the state's economy the governor is vigorously building a large modern airport complete with maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facilities and has trained capable hands to manage the airport on completion.

Industrial City which will have a seaport, shipyard, and industrial estate. The
