Governor Akpabio has elevated the Akwa Ibom society into a modern structure
through promotion of human right, strengthening of internal security, support
for social security, warding off militant activities. Curbing youth restiveness,
promotion of religious tolerance, support and patronising of religious
organisations, touching lives positively, promotion of freedom of speech,
promotion of our cultural heritage, support for equal opportunities and social
justice as well as harmonious living among families.
With the redefinition of the Akwa Ibom society along the lines of the founding
fathers of the state the governor has institutionalised a comprehensive
programme of liberation from oppression, societal emancipation and state
welfarism.
As the governor takes the Akwa Ibom society to the next level there has been a
far reduced focus on ethnic superiority and tension which has been replaced with
a greater focus on the common interest of cooperation. Further, there has been
an orchestrated challenge of long held tradition in favour of practices that
hold better prospects for the state's people. The collective interest of the
entire Akwa Ibom State in Godswill Akpabio's administration has been to
cooperate in the building of a unified society by deploying structures that
support a sustainable lifestyle. This dream of the people has received a greater
attention of the governor as he placed emphasis on laser sharp community
development stratetegies.
The new Akwa Ibom social order with governor Godswill Akpabio is focused on
maintaining functional dependencies, common cultural identity, social
solidarity, and homogenous institutions. Put in a more visionary way the modern
Akwa Ibom society is averaging literacy level to a critical mass capable of
germinating into a dynamic, productive, and prosperous people able to enjoy
ethnic harmony.
The governor has raised the living standard while fighting poverty and
insecurity. The success recorded so far in the battle against poverty and
insecurity is raising the state to a higher society and ultimately to the people
for a higher life. |
